- The "Outer Loop" of the I540 Triangle Expressway would connect HWY 55 in Apex to US 64/US 264 in Knightdale.
- Completing of the Outer Loop would reduce traffic congestion and improve commuter mobility in the fast growing communities South and East of Raleigh.
- Several routes have been proposed, dropped and added since 2010. Below are routes currently being recommended by NC DOT.
- The Complete 540 study is currently in process and on Step 2 of 8 in the Environmental Review Process. Get complete detail of steps in REPORT.
